About 230,000 Hungarians in underdeveloped regions have participated in basic digital skills training courses supported by close to HUF 23 billion in European Union funding, the National Office of Vocational and Adult Training (NSZFH) said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The NSZFH organized the "Closing the Digital Gap" project in the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program.

Participants are given two modules of instruction, one on the use of computers and the other on smart devices.

Digital literacy is a key competency on today's labor market, the NSZFH said.
